Still Going Strong!
Written by Vicky on May 1, 2009 – 2:54 pm -Things have been a little quiet on the Stitched Up blog recently so I thought I’d pop by to say we’re still here and still going strong.
Our craft group still takes place every Wednesday evening and recently we’ve had a few lovely new ladies join us. There’s still room for more crafty guys and gals so do come along.
As always we welcome crafters of all interests. Lately our stitchy folk have been bringing a range of crafts including embroidery, crochet, hand sewing, spinning, lace making, knitting, beading and dress making and it has been great for beginners like me to see our more experienced crafters at work. I’ve even learned a thing or two!
If you’d like to know more about Stitched Up then please take a look at our ‘about’ page or get in touch.

Beginners blog
Written by Vicky on January 3, 2009 – 8:58 pm -I’ve been stuck in the house feeling lousy with the flu all Christmas but the one positive thing to come out of it is that it finally gave me the time to get a long awaited project off the ground.
This is my own little blog which will be a kind of journal tracking my progress in learning and applying crafts and dressmaking skills. As the Stitched Up ladies know I’ve been going on and on about wanting to learn how to make clothes and accessories for ages and now with lots of inspiration and brilliant people around me there’s no better time to go for it.
If you get a chance do pop by and say hello at www.victorialouise.co.uk

All the fun of the (craft) fair
Written by Claire on May 26, 2008 – 12:04 pm -Thought that I would post on this blog as I haven’t done it in soooo long. Mainly as I have been beavering awaytrying to get things done for the craft fair that was last weekend (it feels like ages ago already!).
Some of the other stall holders were moaning that there wasn’t much trade, and that the Beeston fair the week before was much better. All I can say is, it’s made a nice dent in the honeymoon fund, so I am happy enough really. I did, however realise that it really takes it’s toll on you being really nice to people who are picking your stuff over (some with an expression as if to say “you should be paying me to take your stuff”…) all day long. On the flip side, I met some really lovely people (mainly the other stall holders) and chewed the fat with them. I met a lovely old dear, who must have been almost 80 telling me how she used Camay soap as she’d seen an advert when she was younger with Katie Boyle (if you don’t know who she is – Google it!) and she’s used the soap ever since after she saw my make up bags with vintage adverts on them. The next fair I am at I will be theming it a bit – “Domestic goddess” – aprons and stuff for the woman in the home (tongue in cheek of course!) and the rest of the stuff I am going to stick on Etsy at some point. When I get round to it! Anyway, here’s a couple of pics for you – definately looked better the second day!

Shop update
Written by Claire on January 31, 2008 – 10:56 am -Hi All
I had a scare on my way in to work – the Hospice shop I pretty much cleared out is closing for a mont. They say it’s for staff training but I think it’s for the poor old lady that had to serve me with all the crafty goodness I scooped up. So if you were thinking of visiting, it’d not open again until 22nd Feb….x
