New girl on the blog
Written by Sue on February 12, 2008 – 7:26 pm -Thought I had better introduce myself properly now I’ve become part of the group. My name is Sue, often known in blogland as Guzzisue and I blog under the name of Travel, fibre and thread.
Anyway, enough of that. Here are some pictures of the pieces I have been stitching at our recent meetings
ATC ( Artist Trading Card) 3.5 x 2.5 inch, mixed fibres bonded to felt and handstitched. This card has been sent to Emmy in Holland who writes Cramzy blog.
Fabric Postcard 6 x 4 inch, Felted merino and silk fibres, machine and hand stitched, beaded. Stitched for Cyber Fyber Exhibition in Columbia
These small pieces of work are perfect to stitch whilst chatting and exchanging ideas, also easy to carry to work.
By the way, I was in Arnold on Saturday and the Hospice shop there appears to have closed along with the one in Netherfield so no crafty finds for me recently.

Hi Sue
A big, big welcome to you!
These postacrds are beautiful, so intricate and detailed.
I noticed that the Hospice Shop in Arnold was closed too.

I think the hospice shops in general are closing, although the one in Sherwood is opening again mid Feb – I think the rents were getting too much for them. It’s a shame they are closed as the shops are a great source for bargains and a very worthy cause too.
Welcome Sue! x see you next week at the Textiles Worksop

They’re lovely. I especially like the way you’ve created the bead clusters on the second one.
I noticed that the Hospice shop on Carlton Road closed down about 3 weeks ago, but last week I was passing again and it had a brand new sign up. Maybe they’re just being re-vamped. I hope so, they’re great shops.
